Russian Music Studies – Renamed
Works in Russian Music Studies are devoted to the wide range of musics from Russia and areas that have been under Russian or Soviet dominion. The series encompasses all types of music and music making: art music, popular music, and everything in between. Approaches include the full range of contemporary scholarly inquiry in music, from manuscript studies to digital humanities, as practiced in the fields of musicology, ethnomusicology, theory, and popular music studies, among others. The series presents not only current original scholarship but also newly annotated translations and reprints of classic studies in the field. To take in the grand sweep of Russian music, the series comprises works covering the pre-Revolutionary empire, the Soviet state, and the post-Soviet sphere (including Ukraine, Georgia, Central Asia, and the Baltics). This series has a new name, East European Music Studies. Inquiries may be sent to series editors Simon A. Morrison ([email protected]) and Peter Schmelz ([email protected]).
