Public Cultures of the Middle East and North Africa
This innovative ethnographic series seeks to foster a greater understanding of the politics and culture of the Middle East and North Africa, a region of increasing geopolitical importance, popular attention, and scholarly study. Moving beyond traditional approaches to the region, the series promotes an emerging anthropology dealing with contemporary issues such as urbanism, media, popular culture, immigration, transnational processes, human rights, and social movements based in gender, ethnicity, religious piety, and the environment. Proposals for ethnographically-informed work from any discipline are encouraged. Submit a book proposal through our online form here.
