Indiana University Press (IUP) is pleased to announce that Gigi Lamm will join the press as its new director of marketing and sales. In this role, Lamm will direct IUP’s international sales and marketing efforts and manage its marketing team to meet sales and revenue targets across its publishing portfolio. “I could not be more excited to take the next step in my academic publishing journey with Indiana University Press! I have always admired their books and journals program and am greatly looking forward to working with an incredible team in support of all the press’s publications, endeavors, and initiatives.”
Gigi has more than two decades of experience in university press marketing, sales, and publicity, and joins IUP from the University of Pennsylvania Press where she served as its publicity and public relations manager. Prior to her role at Penn Press, Lamm was publicist and sales manager at the University of Washington Press. An enthusiastic member of the university press community, Gigi is active in the Association of University Presses, where she has served on conference panels, participated in its mentorship program, and is the current chair of the University Press Week Task Force. “Gigi brings a wealth of experience in scholarly publishing,” said Diane Dallis–Comentale, Ruth Lilly Dean of University Libraries for Indiana University Bloomington. “She’s demonstrated her ability to navigate the complexities of the industry while managing successful marketing campaigns that have resulted in trade books featured in outlets including Ms. Magazine, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. We’re thrilled that she’s joining us.”
